As I mentioned previously, I have hired a video journalist and with the new hire the company where I work has made the decision to invest in at least two fully outfitted and mobile toolkits, one for the new hire and one the photography staff.
And, wow, was it hard. It took a couple of weeks to put the kits together based on input from the new hire, the photography staff and several others. The kit is not unlike the one Gannett put together or others out there.
Let me know what you think. This is the basic list. We added some software, an external monitor, external hard drive and the kit with laptop, camera and accessories came to about $14,000.
